Promo codes

In this tutorial, you will learn how to add the Promo Codes plugin, create and manage promo codes, and test them in the Bookla widget or on your website.

What you will need​

  • Access to your Bookla Platform account
  • The ability to edit your widget configuration

How to add the Promo Codes plugin​

  1. Go to your Bookla Platform account
  2. Find the "Promo Codes" plugin and click "Add"
  3. After adding the plugin, it will appear in the sidebar

How to create promo codes​

  1. Go to the section "Promo codes"
  2. Click the button "+ New Promo code"
  3. Enter the required parameters:
  • Code: This is the code that customers will enter at checkout
  • Title: The promo code title
  • Description (Optional): This is an optional field where you can write a description for the promo code
  • Discount Type: You can choose the promo code type, percentage or amount
  • Discount Percentage: If you choose the percentage type, enter the discount percentage the client will receive
  • Maximum Discount Amount: Optional field to cap the maximum discount amount
  • Discount Amount: If you choose the amount type, enter the fixed discount amount
  • Service-Specific Discounts (Optional): This is the field where you can override the promo code for different services, for example, 10% for one service and 15% for another
  • Usage Type: Here you can choose the usage type for the promo code:
    • Unlimited: Clients can use this promo code unlimited times
    • Single use (Once total): The code can be used only once by one client
    • One per customer: Every client can use this code once
    • Limited count: You can choose how many times the promo code can be used
  • Usage Limit*: If you choose the limited count usage type, enter the maximum number of times this code can be used
  • Allowed Services (Optional): Optional field where you can select specific services for which this promo code will work
  • Active Period (Optional): Optional field where you can choose when the code can be used by clients by selecting "Active From" and "Active To"
  • Reservation Allowance (Optional): Optional field where you can select the valid booking date range by choosing "Reservation From" and "Reservation To"
  • Metadata (JSON) (Optional): Optional field for custom metadata in JSON format
  1. Click the button "Create"

How to view promo code usage​

  1. Go to the section "Promo codes"
  2. Choose the promo code for which you want to view usage and click the three dot button
  3. Click "View usages"

How to test promo codes​

To test promo codes, you need to enable the code field in the widget. You can either test it on Bookla widget or on platforms like Framer.

How to enable the code field in the widget​

  1. Go to the section "Config"
  2. In the sidebar, find the section "Code" and click it
  3. Enable it by clicking the button

How to enable the code field in Framer​

  1. Go to your Framer project
  2. Click on the Bookla widget
  3. In the sidebar, find and click "Code field"
  4. Click "Yes" to enable it

How to test promo codes​

After the code field is enabled, you can test promo codes

  1. Go to the Bookla widget or open your site where the code field is enabled
  2. Choose the date and time, and you will see the field "Subscription or Promo Code"
  3. Enter the code and click "Continue"
  4. Enter the client information
  5. Click "Book now"

Note
By default, the text will be "Subscription or Promo Code" or in Framer "Promo code", but you can edit these texts.
